Chapter 2 - Do You Wanna Go To bed?

It’s night. I’m Oliver, the goofball that tried to chase that squirrel up the tree before Mom, took me inside. Why’d she do that? I have no idea. Now, she’s asking me if I want to go to bed. I really would like to, considering the fact that I’ve had a hard day of working on sitting at the window, going unnoticed until Mom came home, sitting me down on the couch inside the TV Room at Grandma’s house, and doing things to make me growl. Now, though, I don’t know why I sleep in bed with her if she’s going to make me growl instead of letting me chew on my paws and then falling asleep like I would like to do.

That night, I went to bed dreaming of winter, which is where we’re getting to. Now, the only problem I’ve faced with that is the fact that my family hasn’t had one day off, and WE’RE NEARING THEIR WINTER BREAK!! But, hopefully, they will have some days off, and they can keep me entertained. Whenever i’m with my mom, she pets me, but that’s the only thing I like about her except for the fact that she takes care of me.

BUT, Gage takes me out all the time, and we spend quality time together whenever he’s there. I have been waiting to go to bed all day now. But my dreams of squirrels run free in my dream. I have been, as of tonight, the Patrol Team.

That’s where the dream takes place. I’m in the forest. But, now I have a vest over my back that says Patrol Team on it. I’m chasing the Evil Squirrel Team, and holding anyone I find that’s a squirrel captive. Also on the Evil Squirrel Team are a set of humans that I bite and chase. They have no weapons, but instead, they have the puppies that I need to give my family an extra kick.

Before I know it, I’m chasing after the first squirrel - I have him!

  RING RING RING!!

I wake up. Mom’s getting out of bed. I get up and follow her, making sure to get on Gage’s bed when she goes to wake him up. Apparently Kellie isn’t here, because she’s not in her bed where she normally is. I jump on his bed, and nudge him in the arm. He wakes up. He grunts and then gets out of bed. I follow him into the bathroom is, with Mom getting in the shower. I go up to the toilet with him while he takes a bathroom break. Man, I so want some of that awesome tasting toilet water! He says something to his mom, who apparently had forgotten to take me out, and then he says 6 words that mean the world to me when he says them: Do you wanna go outside? I perk my ears up until he says “Come on!” And then I flollow him.

We get outside and there’s a lot of what I call “majestic white stuff” on the ground, and I play in until he says “Go potty!” Then, I go around the yard, sniffing for something that smells awesome enough to pee on. I go back over to the door of the fence that surrounds the backyard and sit down. Gage apparently knew I was tired of being wet, and he got my leash back on. He took me back inside, where my mom was putting her coat on. I wondered where she was going, and then I noticed that she’d already taken her shower. Gage hadn’t taken his coat off, either, so I let him pet me good-bye, knowing that he’d get back home in time for me to sniff him and get to experience the smell of new people, and whatever had been cooking during his lunch break.

Grandma came over during the nine o’clock hour, when I was upstairs laying awake wondering how long it would be before my family would come for me to comfort me. She came over with some food in boxes, but I knew they weren’t for me. She went and got my leash, and together we headed for her house. I was glad to be there, because she hadn’t seen me in a while. And, Gage was talking about being an author when he grew up, I’d heard people say he was a wonderful whatever an author was.

See, I want my side of the story to be told one day, because I’m eating this horrid tasting dog food, and the only time I get real food is when Gage or Kellie slips food to me in secret, or Mom gives me my pill inside a hot dog that’s raw. Mmm, my favorite.

Also speaking, I LOVE THE MAGIC WINDOW!! The magic window is where they hand out food bagged up and warm, and usually has a sign out front with two arches that are yellow and they are surrounded by a red background. Gage always gives me slips of food, or when I’m with Mom, she’ll give me a whole entire hamburger! If you don’t know this, I’m a huge fan of greasy meat! Never gets old! And, the humans LOVE it too. I’m in a state of love right now, because yesterday Grandma took me for a ride to a different magic window, but one that I’ve smelled the food at home before.

At the end of the day, I rested on Grandma’s lap. I watched some TV, although I couldn’t figure out where or what they were saying. All I can do is bark, which is why I call myself Oliver Barker. That’s my name in the dog world. My other name is Oliver Windel Morgan. I am also into the whole laying on the love-seat while I listen to Gage type on the computer and click the mouse. I love it when Gage plays the music for Angry Birds Chrome, because it gives me happy thoughts, and it also calms me down, so I can go to sleep and think about shasing cats and then killing them. Then, I find the cat’s loot, and I eat it, too.

Recently, gage has been into computers a lot. I’ve been hearing about whatever Google is, and how cool some of it’s products really are. I can’t beleieve that he actually is working on stuff on the Internet. He has been being even better at anything than I’ve seen him do, because he’s grown up. I remember how he used to be as small as I was. Now, he’s taller than me, stronger than me, and I can well believe that he’s going to grow up after I’m gone and get a new dog, who will be as good as me. I know I’ll always be in his heart after I’m gone, along with Mom’s. Especially Mom’s.

Now, I’ve been wanting to get moving with my squirrel chasing business. I can’t very well do that since I have no tools, like humans have shotguns. The only thing in the world that I want is a nice family of bunnies, held captive under the trampoline in the backyard. I’ve been waiting so long to get back at all those squirrels who have been teasing me. They flip their little tails at me saying, “HA HA HA!! You’ll NEVER EVER catch ME! Well, I want you to be sure that if you see any squirrels and you own a gun, please kill them!

Anyway, there’s a little kid that Gage entertained on a camping trip once, like, right before he turned 13. It was in Nashville, Tennessee. His name was Garret. Garret Loved shotguns. As a matter of fact, Gage talked about it for about a month. I have never seen him, but I know that both me and Garret would love a nice shotgun. I would love a shotgun because it would get me some nice, fresh meat. Heaven knows how many times I’ll be dreaming about this. But I know that one day, I WILL get my revenge on these nasty, evil creatures that call themselves “better” than me. I’ll have them know that one day, I’ll kill them all, like it or not, because it’s not all about them.

Well, good night, and I’ll see you tommorrow. Out.

Chapter 3 - Do You Want To Go to The park?

Yes, this is Gage, the writer of this story. It’s Friday night, dark and cold, but I still want to go to the park with my bud. I love Oliver a lot, and I will always be there for him. I would like to say that this book has come very far, considering the stuff I wrote before. Now, I’ve asked him the question. Now I’ve gotta do it. So, why are my paragraphs different from his paragraphs? Because That’s an easy way to tell who is writing each part. Originally done in Google Docs, I think the cloud storage is awesome! Not to mention the autosave feature!

But that’s not what I’m here to talk about. I’m here to talk about the time we’re having in the park. I’m currently listening to my iPod, “Party Rock Anthem” to be specific, by LMFAO. I never knew that they’d come out with an album before until now. They have some pretty good music, but they need to stop with the drinking part. They’re going to end up dead if they keep doing this. And I don’t want that. As we walk into the entrance to Faurot Park, we see several birds nests, each one Oliver wants to check out. I have no idea what he has on birds and squirrels, but I do know that his dream may be to torture and then eat a squrrel, but I have no clue why. probably because they’re small and they run fast. Anything that’s small
and runs fast probably tastes good to Oliver.
